AI on DEVAE

AI that helps you find people, not replace them

DEVAE's AI features, with the honest status of each: what is live in beta, what is planned, and what stays internal.

DEVAE uses AI for two things today: matching you with developers who complement your skills, and tuning your feed to your stack. Summaries, code explanations and an AI interview host are planned. DEVAE is not a coding assistant; it is the network where you pair with a person on the code your assistant wrote.

We list features here only once they are live or actually scheduled, and each one links to where you can use it. If a feature says planned, it does not exist yet.

AI teammate and co-founder matching

DEVAE uses an AI model to match you with developers by complementary skills, time zone, commitment level and stack, and explains each match; it is live in beta.

You describe what you are building, what you are missing and how much time you have. The matcher scores candidates from collaboration profiles on DEVAE, weighing complementary skills first, then time zone overlap, commitment and interests, and returns a ranked list with a short reason for each match.

The model is used to score and explain, not to decide for you. Every match is a person with a public profile, and the next step is a conversation in a room, not an automatic introduction.

Feed personalisation

The DEVAE feed is ranked by your stack, tags and follows rather than engagement; a model-based ranker is on the roadmap.

Today the feed is tuned by the languages and tags on your profile and by who you follow, with no engagement boosting. Model-based personalisation ("tech news for my stack") is planned and will stay transparent: you will be able to see why a post was shown.

AI room summaries and recaps

AI recaps of live rooms, a summary of what was discussed, decided and left open, are planned and not yet available.

A room ends and the context is gone. Planned recaps will turn a session into a short written summary the host can post to the group: what was debugged, what was decided, what is still open, with links to the snippets that came out of it.

Recaps will be opt-in per room and visible only to participants unless the host shares them.

AI thread summaries

A TL;DR for long technical threads on DEVAE is planned; it is not available yet.

Long threads are where the good answers hide. A planned summariser will pin a short, quotable summary at the top of a thread once it passes a length threshold, so a newcomer sees the conclusion before the debate.

AI code explainer in posts and snippets

An "explain this code" action on posts and snippets is planned for DEVAE; it is not available yet.

Snippets are shared to be understood. The planned explainer will produce a plain-English walkthrough of a snippet, a regex or a stack trace inline, without leaving the post. Until then, the free regex tester and JSON formatter on /tools cover the common cases.

AI code review on shared snippets

AI code review on DEVAE snippets is planned; today, code review happens between people in live rooms.

A planned first-pass reviewer will flag obvious issues on a shared snippet before a human looks, so the room time goes to the interesting problems. Human review in rooms with screen and terminal sharing is available now and is the point of the product.

AI mock interview host in rooms

An AI interviewer that runs coding and system design mock interviews inside DEVAE rooms is planned; peer mock interviews in rooms work today.

Rooms already support mock interviews with a peer: share your screen, talk through the problem, get feedback. The planned AI host will run the interview when no peer is available and hand you a written debrief.

AI question routing

Routing a question to the members most likely to answer it ("find an expert in React") is planned.

A question tagged react will be suggested to active React community members who have answered similar threads. The goal is fewer unanswered questions, not notifications spam, so routing will be capped per member.

AI moderation and anti-spam

DEVAE uses automated checks alongside human moderation to keep the community spam-free; details are internal.

Automated classifiers flag spam, link farms and abuse for human review. Reports from members go to a small moderation queue. There is no fully automated banning.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, two are live in beta: AI-assisted teammate and co-founder matching, and stack-based feed personalisation. Room recaps, thread summaries, a code explainer, AI code review and an AI mock-interview host are planned.

No. DEVAE is a social network for developers. Its AI features help you find people and make sense of conversations; for writing code, use the assistant you already use and pair on the result in a DEVAE room.

No. Matching uses the collaboration profile you fill in on purpose; posts and rooms are not used to train models.
