How DEVAE collects, uses and protects your data — written to be read, not skimmed.

DEVAE is in open beta. This policy applies to the web app, the desktop apps, the Android app and the CLI.
1. Data Collection
We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, username, profile information, and any content you create or upload. We also automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including your IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and access times. When you use collaboration features, we collect session metadata to improve performance and reliability.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve the Service; personalize your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests; process transactions and send related information; send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages; respond to your comments, questions, and requests; monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities; detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities; and develop new features and services.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with: service providers who perform services on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email delivery); other users when you make your profile or content public; law enforcement or government agencies when required by law or to protect our rights; parties involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to you. All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
4. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information; the right to data portability; the right to restrict or object to processing; the right to withdraw consent at any time; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 6. Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing. Access to personal data is restricted to employees and contractors who need it to operate, develop, or improve the Service. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@devae.co.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice, such as an email notification or a banner on the Service. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
