Java on DEVAE

The Java hub leans toward people working on services that have to stay up: Spring Boot APIs, event-driven systems, banking and enterprise integrations, and the JVM performance work that comes with them. It is also where students learning Java for coursework or interviews find people a few years ahead of them. Threads cover architecture and tooling as much as syntax — module layouts, testing, observability, migrating between Java versions — and rooms are used for walking through a heap dump or a slow query with the terminal shared.

Developers in Boston

Boston and Cambridge combine a very high density of students and researchers with a long-standing software and biotech industry, and the two worlds do not mix as much as they could. This hub is a place where they can: students looking for their first real project or a study partner, researchers who need an engineer, engineers who want to work on something harder than their day job. Members from across the metro area appear here with their stack and current work, and rooms make it easy to pair or get a review without a trip across the river in winter.

Post what you're building with the Java tag and the collaboration flag — it reaches Boston members first and shows up on the find-teammates page. You can also open a live room with screen and terminal sharing and invite people directly.

No. The location is just a filter. Members work with people across time zones every day; Boston simply makes it easier to find someone who shares your hours or wants to meet in person.
