JavaScript is the largest group on the platform because it sits underneath almost everything else here: React and Vue on the front end, Node on the back end, and the tooling in between. The hub is not a tutorial site. It is where people post the thing they shipped this week, ask for a second pair of eyes on a tricky closure or event loop bug, and open a room to fix it together with a screen and a terminal shared.

Calgary's developer community has grown quickly as the city diversified beyond energy, with fintech, agriculture and climate tech, logistics and a steady flow of remote engineers who moved for the cost of living and the Rockies. Many of them work for teams based in Toronto or the United States and have few local peers. This hub lists DEVAE members from Calgary and, for now, Edmonton with their stack and current project, and rooms make it easy to pair, get a review or talk through a career change with someone in the same time zone.
